Resource: Photoshop features!
These are SO incredibly useful! I'm always looking for more Photoshop shortcuts and tricks, here's an excellent (and thorough!) list of them from Epilogue:
[Part One] [Part Two]
And they both have multiple pages of PS goodies! :D Hehehe. Awesome cheat sheet, has stuff from beginning to obscure yet all insanely useful. check it out!

Inspiration: Photography
So specific. And I'm really stealing a blog post from the Web Design Ledger. But it's just that awesome, there's some really beautiful stuff there. All photos are copyright to their respective photographers of course, there's a link to their pages from the original post, if you click on the pictures. Here's just a few of them:

Inspiration - Thienbao @ Deviantart
More from my DA favorites. Thienbao has a unique way of handling color - it can range from soft and subtle to eye-bleedingly vivid, mesmerizing colors that jump off the screen and really glow. There's some great stuff in his gallery, you should check it out: [link]
Concept Art - World theme
Will update this later, but I've got a couple possibilities for themes that I'll be looking into for the next Concept Art project - to make a world.
1. Frozen. Spiderweb picture already posted as the muse for this one.
2. Moor/Loch Old, scottish, magic, witchcraft, all that good stuff.
3. Subterranean. Caves, either under a mountain or a forest? Not as specific, but will develop later.

Inspiration
So. I have 830 favorites on DeviantART, so I figure I should probably start posting some of that stuff here. Today we have sculpture from Ellen June, who makes the awesomest creatures ever out of polymer clay. here's her gallery: [link]

WIP - Ice Mirror (part 1)
Yeah, I'm at a loss for original section titles for the blog. So sue me. Anyway, here's what I'm working on. Photoshop + my un-fancy yet still awesome little bamboo tablet :3
Random Art Stuff
So I was reading my Art History book, and I came across a painting. It's funny how art can speak to you sometimes, even if the artist is from another country, another culture, another time, vastly different from yours. This was one of those paintings, to me at least. I think it's the expression on the girl's face on the right that caught my attention - it seems like she's the only one that really hears the music.

Findings - French Roast
So I was stuck for ideas, and I googled "character design". Came across an interesting blog that interviewed different character and storyboard artists, here's the link:
Character Design | Artist Interviews
(Really it was the first result, so it didn't take as much effort as I just made it sound like. I didn't sift through the dregs of the internet to find it or anything. Interesting stuff though.)
Also, it interviewed the creators of a neat little French animated short about a businessman who loses his wallet at a cafe:
The production blog is pretty neat too, some of it's translated to the English verison, but there's a little more info about the whole production process in French, with lots of drawings and pictures and goodies :) I'll see if I can post a translated version of the storyboarding post later on, there's some interesting stuff, and I really need to work on my french anyway. :P Here's the link to the original if anyone's interested: [Storyboarding (FR)]

Pretty Picture
Totally unsubstantial post this evening. But I thought this was pretty, haven't seen anything like that in Sunny California.
