Gossamer: Key images

ifted through the ridiculous amount of stuff I saved to find the pictures that best catch the atmosphere I'm trying to get, with elements that will be included in the world concept.  If that made any sense at all.  Whatever, I'll update later when I can actually communicate.  Pictures are the important part.

WIP - Ultramarine (part 1)

No idea where this is going, just know it's not quite done yet.  Was going for the bluest possible blue I could think of.  Interesting how taking an actual painting class is affecting digital painting, seems to be helping me understand how to mix colors and how they work together, even without all the craziness of physical paint and pigment.  Honestly didn't think it'd apply to digital painting too.  Guess it's good to know that what's got to add up to hours and hours mixing paint is actually turning out to be pretty useful.  Anyway.

Quick Link - Paris View

Just ran across the french illustrator Xav, who has some nifty designs, but I really liked this little slideshow of a view of a paris building at different times of day.  Completely unrelated to anything, but pretty. Reminds me of Monet's paintings of the cathedral at different times of day, how different light can give a place completely different character.

Inspiration: Stephanie Pui-Mun Law

Not really a whole lot I can say to do her work justice, so I won't try, except to say that she's definitely one of my favorite artists of all time.  The style and the spirit of her work are really inspiring to me.
